Hello again, reader.
I want to dedicate the first post of 2026 to what could be considered a New Year’s resolution at GOAT Drones Solutions: to help, as much as possible, to care for the environment. And this is not just greenwashing: it is no secret that the drone industry, especially in terms of battery manufacturing and operational travel, has an undeniable impact on the ecosystem. That is why last year we participated in a collaborative project with a vocational training institute, and one of its students did an internship with us, helping us to develop an Environmental Management Plan.
I take up the gauntlet and, in front of you all, I make the following environmental commitments:
- Direct investment. We have joined the “1% for the Planet” initiative. We are therefore committed to investing 1% of the base price we charge our customers in tangible environmental projects through the Reforesta platform.
- Responsible ICT. Default use of the Ecosia search engine, the web search engine that plants trees thanks to the advertising revenue it generates from searches.
- Paperless. Electronic signatures, electronic offices, communication via email and instant messaging, cloud storage and registration.
- Promotion of recycling. Packaging, paper and cardboard, batteries, to the recycling bin or recycling center.
- Care for equipment. Proper maintenance and prudent use of UAS, components, and batteries to extend their useful life.
- Preference for local projects and suppliers.
- Preference for video calls over physical meetings to avoid travel.
- Promotion of drone-in-a-box technology to avoid travel by crews for repetitive or recurring work.
- Responsible travel. Prioritize the use of vehicles with environmental labels, fleet adaptation, preference for eco-fuels, efficient driving, fleet maintenance, and checks.
Although there will always be room for improvement and everything we do to care for the environment will be a drop in the ocean, I hope that these actions will have a positive impact. With the aim of spreading this purpose to partners, customers, and collaborators, I remain sincerely yours,
Daniel Navarro
