Drone-in-a-box for surveillance in Ambite

In February 2026, GOAT Drones Solutions SL carried out an R&D project related to drone-in-a-box systems in the town of Ambite.

These systems represent the future of routine UAS operations (perimeter security and surveillance or preventive technical inspections), as they improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enable faster deployment compared to sending a team to the site. The project aims to develop an MVP that addresses the shortcomings of such systems.

To this end, a technology hub joined the project in its initial phase, making it possible: MCR Infoelectronic, as the master distributor for DJI Enterprise in Spain and Portugal; CJC Global, as a specialist in electrical systems; Dahua, as a provider of security systems; Starlink, as a provider of satellite connectivity; and, of course, the Ambite City Council, which provided and equipped the facilities for the team.

During Phase 0, a series of storms swept across Spain. Ambite was no exception, and the rising waters of the Tajuña River as it flowed through the town posed a significant threat, given that in 2025 the Puente del Molino—the only bridge connecting the two parts of the town—had to be closed to prevent a detour of several kilometers.

Taking advantage of the presence of the DJI Dock 3 system with a Matrice 4TD and GOAT Drones pilots Ángel Briones, Carlos Miguel, and CEO (and pilot) Daniel Navarro himself, daily patrols were conducted of flood-prone areas. In close collaboration with the Ambite Civil Protection Association, the safety of the facilities was ensured during the DANA episode, as explained in this Infodron article.

In addition, capitalizing on the strong relationship between the Ambite City Council and GOAT Drones, Civil Protection organized a training exercise on March 7th to simulate a search for a missing person. The exercise involved volunteers from Ambite, Campo Real, and Mondejar, as well as staff from SUREM and GOAT Drones—which provided aerial support using UAS for the search operation—along with specialists and members of ASEMERPAS.

As a result of these collaborations, Gonzalo Rodríguez, Head of the Ambite Civil Protection Group, acknowledges our work in this letter of recognition. For our part, we would like to thank all the staff involved—including those from the town hall, the Civil Protection Group, and our technology partners—for their collaboration and for believing in us as we continue to shape the future of drone operations.
